Kindergarten: For this week’s principal’s shout-out, Mrs. Jarnot chose Lawson Cooney! She said that Lawson is an overall great kid. He always tries his hardest and knows right from wrong. Seeing Lawson get so excited about learning, makes Mrs. Jarnot love teaching. Ross is very lucky to have a student like Lawson. Enjoy your toast!
1st grade: Mrs. Kabosky and Mrs. Paczewski chose Marcus Skipalis. They said Marcus is one who will light up every room he walks into with his big smile and warm hugs. There isn't a day that goes by that Marcus is not happy, smiling, or giving hugs to someone. He is a hard worker in school and on the fields for baseball and football. Marcus is dedicated and always tries his best with everything he does. Keep up the great work, Marcus. Enjoy your toast!
2nd grade: Mrs. Scouton chose Miriana Rakowski (Flipper) for a second Principal's Toast. This is the first time this happened so I can vouch this girl is really something else! Mrs. Scouton says she amazes her every day. She has an infectious smile and friendly personality. She excels in the classroom and in the gym. Her dedication and determination are unmatched. Flipper strives to succeed and gives 100% in everything she does. She is one incredible kid and Mrs. Scouton can see her achieving great things. Stay true to who you are! 3rd grade: For this week Mrs. Frey, Miss Grey, and Mrs. Shipula have chosen Avery Hunter! They said Avery is a great student and an even better classmate. He is always there with an encouraging word for a friend or if someone needs a helping hand. Mrs. Shipula says he is especially kind and caring towards the younger students in her class. He's like a big brother. Avery has made a lot of progress this year! We have seen him really start to take pride in his work and show a lot of responsibility. Keep up the awesome work Avery!
4th grade: For the final toast, Mrs. Albee would like to pick Annalynn Overwise. Annaylynn came to us from Nanticoke this year. I did not know she wasn't here last year because she fit in well with the class. Annalynn is a hard worker who cares about her grades. She has repeatedly told me that her parents reinforce these characteristics at home. She cares not only for her classmates, but also her younger brother, family members, and neighbors. She is empathetic and doesn't like to see anyone in a bad mood. Enjoy your toast.
5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller have chosen, Kendall Allen! They say to Kendall, your journey has been inspiring this year! You've shown incredible growth, facing challenges with resilience. Your kindness and concern towards others make you a wonderful friend and role model.
You've become an independent young lady, making wise decisions, standing tall on your own, and believing in yourself. Academically, you excel, showing dedication and a love for learning, writing, and reading, especially, Harry Potter novels.
May you keep growing, inspiring, and achieving great things as you go! We are so proud of you and your accomplishments this year!
6th grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Tyler Devens. They said Tyler has made tremendous progress this year. He is a great student who has been working extra hard this past quarter. He enjoys spending time with his friends and is always willing to help someone in need. What an athlete! We can tell that sports come easy to Tyler. He enjoys wrestling and football and does an amazing job in both. We are extremely proud of Tyler for learning from his mistakes and proving to himself that he can do anything that he puts his mind to. Keep being the best version of you!

Kindergarten: For this weeks principal’s toast, Mrs. Jarnot chose Rin Promovitz. She said that Rin can be very quiet but has also seen a very silly and outgoing side of her. Rin works hard in school and has learned so much this year. She loves to dig in the dirt and is not afraid to get dirty. Enjoy your toast, Rin!
1st grade: Mrs. Kabosky and Mrs. Paczewski chose Cole Vernon. They said Cole greets them with “good morning” at the start of every day. He is polite and well mannered. Cole works hard in the classroom and always wants to do his best. If he doesn’t do as well as he wanted on an assignment or test, he will still find the positives in his work and point out the parts he did well on. Cole is very into sports, playing football, basketball, and baseball. He had a blast at field day, not only happy to earn some ribbons, but also excited to cheer on his peers and congratulate them on how they did. We hope you enjoy your toast!
2nd grade: Mrs. Scouton chose Troy Sharkus for this week's principal toast. She said Troy is a bright student with a quiet personality. He enjoys video games, football, and hanging out with his friends. He is a great friend to others and is always there to lift them up when needed. Keep up the good work, and enjoy your well deserved toast!
3rd grade: For this week Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey picked Sam Matysik! They said Sam comes into the building with a smile on his face. He moves quietly but always with good intentions. He is a wonderful friend to his peers and a rockstar academically! However, if you catch Sam on the basketball court, you better watch your ankles because he has swift moves. Congratulations, Sammy!
4th grade: This week Mrs. Albee chose Noah Waitword. She said Noah is shy in class but, if you watch him, you'll discover his likes and interests. Noah loves gaming and reading. His knowledge of gaming and building worlds in Fortnight is impressive. Noah is tentative in class. He doesn't argue with the other boys. He also has a silly side to him that I love "catching" in the moment when he thinks I'm not looking. Come out of your shell and show the world who you are! You're awesome.
5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Landon Hoprich. They said Landon is so well mannered and very helpful to his classmates and teachers. He is so kind hearted and shows that on a daily basis with positive comments and by asking questions with a genuine interest about others. Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller have witnessed, on several occasions throughout the year, Landon being the student who asks others to join when he sees them alone on the playground or needs help in the classroom. He definitely has the human element part down! Landon cares about his academics and always does his best. Way to go, Landon! Keep giving your best, and keep being you!
6th grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Jeremy Bartz. They said Jeremy is new to our school this year, but you’d never know it! He has acclimated very well. He fits in with our 6th graders perfectly. He has a great personality. He is very athletic and has impressed us all with his talent. Jeremy tries hard and is friends with everyone. He’s like the mayor. Everyone seems to know him. Stay positive and keep being you!

Kindergarten: For this week’s principal’s toast, Mrs. Jarnot nominated Chase Doty. She said that Chase is so happy to come to school every day. He knows so much about dinosaurs and loves to share his knowledge. He is very caring when one of his classmates gets hurt. He is becoming more independent and is getting ready to become a first grader. Enjoy your toast, Chase!
First grade: Mrs. Kabosky and Mrs. Paczewski chose Azalea Walton. They said Azalea is an awesome role model here at Ross. She is polite, kind, and friendly to all of her peers. She is helpful, and her smile brightens every room she walks into. She tries 100% on every assignment, and she always goes above and beyond to do more than what is asked. You will often find Azalea playing school with her friends during indoor recess because she wants to become a teacher one day. Azalea has all of the qualities to make a fantastic teacher, and we can't wait to see her achieve her goal! Enjoy your toast and keep working hard.
Second grade: For this week's Principal Toast, Mrs. Fewrkel and Mrs. Plisko got to pick. Mrs. Ferkel and Mrs. Plisko chose Alyvia Scaggs for the second grade toast. They said Alyvia is such a sweet and caring girl. She always makes a point to say hello to Mrs. Ferkel and Mrs. Plisko first thing in the morning and in the hallways. This week, Mrs. Plsiko and Mrs. Ferkel did their Dibels testing. Alvyia knocked it out of the park! On duty in the cafeteria and at recess, Mrs. Plisko and Mrs. Ferkel always notice her being respectful and following school rules. Mrs. Ferkel and Mrs. Plisko are so proud of Alyvia, and they hope she enjoys her well-deserved toast!
Third grade: For this week Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey picked Lily Walton for the principal's toast. They said Lily is a fantastic student who really works hard in the classroom. She does such a great job asking for help if she needs it. Lily is a diligent student, and on several occasions she has taken the initiative to ask Mrs. Frey to do extra practice with her on topics that she didn't feel confident about. Her hard work has paid off because she is a super successful third grader! She is a great friend and classmate, and she always treats others with respect. One more thing to note: this girl's fashion is on point! Keep shining, Lily!
Fourth grade: This week, Mrs. Albee chose Ava Walsh. It has been a pleasure having Ava in class this year. Her smile is contagious. She is kind, not only to students in our class, but also to others in the school. I often see her giving out hugs in the hall. She is caring and thoughtful, and she does the best backflips!
Fifth grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Bryn Jarnot. They said Bryn, a vibrant fifth grader, exudes joy through her love for dance and Taylor Swift's music. With each step, she dances to the rhythm of her favorite songs, her movements echoing the beat of her passionate heart. Taylor Swift's lyrics resonate deeply with Bryn, serving as the soundtrack to her life's adventures. Whether twirling in the classroom or performing at competitions, Bryn's enthusiasm for dance is infectious, lighting up any room with her boundless energy and zest for life. She approaches each day with an unwavering optimism, seeing the world as a stage awaiting her next performance.
Sixth grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Gabby Heinrich. They said Gabby is an outstanding student. She is an extremely hard worker, and she goes above and beyond in everything she does. Gabby is very polite and respectful to others. She is a great leader and role model for her classmates. She never complains, and she tries her best on her work. She is a great friend and is happy to help anyone who may need it. She enjoys cheerleading and going to competitions on the weekends during her free time. Gabby, continue to smile and make sure you keep that positive attitude all through life. There is no doubt in our minds that you will continue to do great things!

Kindergarten: For this week's principal's toast, Mrs. Jarnot chose Aria Dimatteo. She said that Aria may be newer to our school, but she fits right in with her class. Aria is super caring and very thoughtful. Aria has been working extra hard in school and it is really showing. Keep up the great work Aria, and enjoy your toast!
1st grade: Mrs. Kabosky and Mrs. Paczewski chose Silas Riaubia! Silas is such a fun, hardworking kid. He is polite, well-mannered, and always tries his best. Silas really shows a high interest in Math and is a good reader too. He loves participating in class. You can always count on Silas to have his hand up to answer questions or to share something that relates to a story we are reading. He is very interested in and knowledgeable about a lot of different things, especially the goats he has at home. You can tell he really enjoys the responsibility of taking care of them. Keep up the good work Silas, and enjoy your toast!
2nd grade: For this weeks' Principal Toast Mrs. Scouton chose Sullivan Jones for this week's Principal Toast. Sullivan is helpful in and out of the classroom. He is always finding a way to put a smile on someone's face. He is very sociable and enjoys sports, especially football. He has matured a lot through this school year, and I am proud of the student he has become. Keep up the good work, Sully!
3rd grade: For this week Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey picked Ella Price for the principal's toast! They said she is better known as Ella P. Rice in the third grade. Ella is a very generous girl and looks for peers who are lonely or have no one to play with at recess. Additionally, she is constantly doing her best academically. Ella has grown so much this year, and we are very proud of her! Way to go Ella!
4th grade: This week Mrs. Albee chose Charlee Sadowski. She said the amount of effort Charlee put into her PSSAs the last two weeks was impressive. She took her time and didn't rush. She has a big heart of gold. She doesn't like to see her classmates upset and often tries to give them words of encouragement to cheer them up. Every Friday, Charlee is one of our hallway dancers. Mrs. Albee may be biased, but she thinks Charlee has the best dance moves. Charlee is unique and isn't afraid to be herself. It's her individuality that Mrs. Albee loves. Keep being you kid!
5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Mia Teixeira. They said Mia T. is one of the most helpful and loyal students they know. She is always asking if we need anything or if she can help us around the classroom. She makes our classrooms shine with her cleaning/organizational skills and her smile! She is friendly and respectful to her teachers and her peers. She is very loyal to her friends and will stand up for them and help them with whatever they may need. She is a dedicated student in the classroom, and always gives 100%. Way to go Mia! Keep giving your best, and keep being you!
6th grade: Mrs. Klaiss got the chance to choose a recipient for 6th grade! She chose Dean Anusiewicz. She said Dean has made leaps and bounds since joining us at Ross Elementary a few years ago! Mrs. Klaiss is so proud of all of his growth and all of the academic goals he has accomplished. He has truly come such a long way and is transforming into quite the outgoing, confident, witty young man. Dean is a very likable student who is kind to others, stands up for his friends, and aims to please the adults in his life. He makes friends easily and is very social with all of his peers. He is a hard worker in the classroom, respectful, and always completes all of his work with no questions asked. It has been a pleasure having Dean in Mrs. Klaiss’s classroom for the past two years, and although Mrs. Klaiss is sad to see him move up to 7th grade, she is excited to continue to hear about all of his great accomplishments in the future!

Kindergarten: For this week's principal's toast, Mrs. Jarnot chose Diarmuid O'Ceallaigh. Mrs. Jarnot said that Diarmuid amazes her with his ability to solve mazes and puzzles. He is a math whiz often completing his work all by myself. He is really creative, and his drawings are always so detailed. Diarmuid is very sweet and loves to help out when he can. Enjoy your toast Diarmuid!
1st grade: Mrs. Kabosky and Mrs. Paczewski chose Jackson Ferkel! They said Jackson is one of the most kind, polite, and caring kids in first grade. He takes right after his mom, Mrs. Ferkel! Jackson is the first person to congratulate or compliment others when they do something great. And he won't hesitate to tell someone how nice they look. He uses his manners every day without being reminded and he truly cares about his peers. Jackson is a hard worker and takes pride in trying to do the right things. He is very athletic and has a passion for sports, especially the Phillies. Remember all of us here at Ross when you sign your first baseball contract. This well-deserved toast is a great way to start off your birthday weekend! Enjoy!
2nd grade: For this weeks' Principal Toast Mrs. Scouton chose Miriana Rogowski. This girl amazes Mrs. Scouton each & every day with her kind heart. She is one of the first to offer help to others or simply loan a pencil when needed. Mrs. Prokopchak also told Mrs. Scouton how wonderful Miriana was with her little girl, Jada, on Take Your Child to Work Day. Once again, simply being kind. She also excels in gymnastics - you might hear Mr. Nonnenberg call her "Flipper" or even see her doing flips in the hall, with permission of course. She is actually competing this weekend. Miriana is a very determined little girl who knows the meaning of hard work, as she spends many hours in the gym learning more. Mrs. Scouton knows this girl will do great things.

3rd grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Clayton Riaubia! They said Clayton may be best known for his signature hairstyle, but in 3rd grade he is known by us for so much more! Clayton raises the bar to new heights with everything he does. He works so hard and always tries his absolute best. Along with his outstanding academic achievements Clayton is a fantastic athlete in multiple sports, has a great sense of humor, and will go above and beyond to help anyone. Great job, Clayton!
4th grade: This week Mrs. Albee chose Natalie Quare. She said last week, Natalie knocked her ELA PSSA open-ended out of the park. She was so proud of her rough draft response; she asked if she could take it home to show her mom. Unfortunately, Mrs. Albee couldn't let her, but it made her so proud that she took pride in her work. Mrs. Albee noticed so much growth over this past year. Natalie has become more motivated, studies harder, and has moved away from the drama. Keep up the good work, kid!
5th grade: Mrs. Klaiss chose this week for 5th grade. Her pick was Ione Ungureit. She said Ione is one of the best-behaved students that she has had a pleasure of teaching. She is always so patient when there is often a lot going on, she is always quick to follow directions and do what is asked of her. Ione is very helpful, always tries her best, is very easy-going and knows how to have fun and make others laugh. She is a good friend to others and always comes to school to do her job. I cannot wait to see the progress she continues to make next school year! Proud of you Ione:)
6th grade: Mrs. Klaiss also got to choose a recipient for 6th grade! - She chose Trinity Quare! She said Trinity has changed and matured so much over these past few years of Mrs. Klaiss knowing her; she has come so far in regards to her academics, her peer relationships, how she handles herself, and her emotions, as the little adult she is starting to become. Trinity loves to help others, especially her teachers and her classmates in need; she is kind, well-mannered, so hardworking, and a good friend to others. It made Mrs. Klaiss so happy last week when she took it upon herself to slide down the lunch table to try to cheer up another student, who was lonely and visibly upset. Trinity moved her lunch and decided that that's where she was going to have lunch that day, just because the other student needed it. She worked so hard on her PSSA's and really, truly tried her best. Trinity makes Mrs. Klaiss proud to be her teacher, and Mrs. Klaiss has no doubt Trinity will continue to succeed in her years to come.

1st grade: Mrs. Kabosky and Mrs. Paczewski chose Dakota Volkel! They said Dakota comes off as being very quiet and shy, but once you get to know him, he definitely isn’t. He has really started to come out of his shell in first grade. Dakota is a very smart and fun kid. He shows a lot of interest in science and is a strong reader. Dakota enjoys traveling to Florida to visit his Mimi and Poppy and loves sharing stories about his trips. Dakota is such a great role model for his younger brother William. Keep being you, Dakota!
2nd grade: Mrs. Cooper actually chose this one! She picked Garrett Holcomb! She said Garrett does really well in music and even when she covered for Mrs. Scouton’s class this past Friday. He was super focused during both classes and was a great leader. Excellent job, Garrett!
3rd grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Noah Riaubia! They said Noah is the most honest student at Ross and is always looking out for others! Noah keeps a positive attitude in the hardest of situations. We all should take a note from Noah's book on how to give our 100% no matter what we are doing. Keep up the great work and being a great person, Noah!
4th grade: This week, Mrs. Albee picked Kylee Carey. Kylee knocked the ELA TDAs out of the park. She took her time and drafted an essay before writing it in the answer booklet. She took her time with the testing and didn't rush. This doesn't surprise me because she is quiet and gets the right answer in class. Kylee is playful with her friends and enjoys being around them. Keep up the good work.
5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Cedric Miller. They said Cedric is a remarkable fifth-grade student! Though he may be quiet by nature, his intellect and thoughtfulness speak volumes about his character. Throughout this year, Cedric has demonstrated growth both personally and academically. His passion for problem-solving is evident in his consistent ability to tackle mathematical problems and solve them, often in his head. Beyond his academic achievements, Cedric's wit and humor add charm to his interactions with peers and teachers. His clever comments and lighthearted jokes never fail to bring smiles to those around him. We do not doubt that Cedric will continue to shine brightly in all his future endeavors.
6th grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Ella Paull. They said Ella is someone that is always making good decisions day in and day out. She enjoys helping others and is more than willing to help a teacher out at any time. Ella is so kind to others and treats others the way that she wants to be treated. She is a very reliable and trust-worthy student who follows deadlines and takes her work seriously. She never complains and tries her best on everything she does. She will seek out help when needed and knows that sometimes things can be challenging, but she never gives up. Ella is very competitive and has a desire to succeed. She is an all around great student. Great job, Ella!

Kindergarten: For this week's principal’s toast Mrs. Jarnot chose Shelby Hazeltine. She said Shelby is always happy to come to school and see her friends. She knows how to stick up for someone else and speak her mind. She also has a soft side and oftentimes brings things in for Mrs. Jarnot or Bryn. 1st grade: Mrs. Paczewski and Mrs. Kabosky chose Elly Trosky- They said Elly is a spunky little girl with a great personality and a big heart. She is well liked by her classmates and teachers because she is kind, caring, and always willing to help. Elly has come a long way this year. She has been working on using strategies to help her when she gets upset, and she's doing an amazing job. Elly excels academically in school because she is a hard worker and always tries her best. Elly loves to dance after school at the Back Mountain Dance Studio, and she is one who will definitely keep you on your toes. She has been working super hard and waiting patiently to be selected for this toast. Way to go, Elly! You did it! Keep up the great work.
2nd grade: Mrs. Ferkel actually chose this one! She picked Joseph Hausman! She said Joseph always puts a smile on her face. He is extremely polite and always willing to help others. His official title in reading class is "folder holder" when students need an extra hand in the hallway. He is always smiling and laughing with his friends at lunch and recess. He is a joy to be around, and he would do anything to help anyone at Ross. Joseph is a hard-worker and it shows in all of his work. Mrs. Scouton is always so proud of him and excited to share his reading tests with Mrs. Ferkel. Enjoy your toast, Joey. You deserve it!
3rd grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Cortlyn Cata-la-notte. They said Cortlyn is always on the ball! She is such a responsible student and is always working hard on whatever we ask her to do. She is so kind and caring towards her teachers and peers. Keep up the great work, Cortlyn!
4th grade: This week, Mrs. Albee picked Jase Phillips. Let's get one thing straight, this kid drives her nuts! But he is as genuine as they come. He comes into school bouncing around happily and continues to throughout the day. His smile is infectious. He has a positive attitude and brightens any gloomy day. Keep being you!
5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Cynthia Peiffer. They said Cynthia is one of the happiest and determined students we know. She is not afraid to ask for help and always puts her best effort into everything she does. She is polite, friendly, and respectful to her teachers and her peers. She is very funny, making her friends and teachers laugh all of the time! She is a dedicated, energetic person in the classroom and on the soccer field. Way to go, Cynthia! 6th grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Jesse Miller. They said has such a great personality. Not only does he have the best handwriting, he also makes us laugh every day. Not a day goes by that we are not laughing with him. From his love of chili dogs to his one liners, Jesse is a remarkable kid. He comes up with the funniest songs and has an infectious personality. He does excellent in the classroom and is a great athlete as well. He never gives up and always wants to do more. He is an all around great addition to our class. Ross is lucky to have him! 3rd grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Hannah Blat. They said Hannah is consistently helping others and always putting her best foot forward. Hannah is one of the most honest and respectful students we have at Ross and certainly deserves the toast. Not to mention she is one awesome basketball player. Keep up the good work, Hannah!
4th grade: Mrs. Albee chose Nathan Sinclair. She said Nathan puts a lot of effort into his school work and it shows. He pays attention in class, completes his homework on time with no errors, asks questions, participates in class, and loves to read. Sometimes I have to ask him to put his novel away during class because he is lost in it. He is a good classmate to other students. Keep up the good work!
5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Addisyn Richards. They said Addy is a vibrant and resilient fifth-grade girl who radiates strength and independence wherever she goes. With her ongoing enthusiasm and unwavering determination, she tackles challenges head-on, never backing down from any obstacle in her path. Whether she's excelling in academics, mastering new skills playing field hockey, or lending a helping hand to her peers, Addy embodies the true spirit of resilience and empowerment. Her confidence is infectious and encourages others to believe in themselves. She's an example of what it means to be strong, independent, and unapologetically herself.
6th grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Maddy Holcomb. They said Maddy is such a great addition to Ross Elementary. She displays countless qualities on a daily basis. Maddy goes out of her way to make others feel included. She always looks out for others and brings a smile to everyone. We have seen countless times Maddy being a friend to someone who was sitting alone or felt left out. She continuously displays wonderful qualities. She makes the class laugh, she loves to help not only the 6th grade teachers but anyone at all! She is an all around wonderful person. Great job, Maddy!

Kindergarten: Mrs. Jarnot chose William Volkel. She said William is very kind and always includes classmates when they ask to play with him. 1st grade: Mrs. Kabosky and Mrs. Paczewski chose Elaina Lee for this week's principal toast. They said When Elaina stepped into our classroom she immediately held out her hand to introduce herself to Emilia. The other boys and girls gathered around and Elaina was just as excited to meet and greet them. She had a huge smile on her face. Elaina is polite, friendly, smart, and a hard worker. She is a great asset to our Ross family, and she is going to fit right in. Welcome, and enjoy your toast with Mr. Nonnenberg!
2nd grade: Mrs. Scouton chose Alexis Vanderlick. She said this girl amazes her every day. She has come leaps and bounds from the beginning of the school year in so many ways. She may not always like what I tell her to do, but she will listen to explanations and has learned to understand my reasoning for certain rules. She never hesitates to apologize when necessary. She loves to read, so you will often catch her caught up in a book. She will often ask for a hug at least once a day. This shows that we have formed a great relationship over the last six months. She is also great among her peers - always willing to help out and include everyone. Mrs. Scouton is so proud of her, and she is excited to see her grow. Keep marching to your drum, Alexis!
3rd grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Sofia Teixeira. They said Sofia's academic achievements this school year are so impressive. She is such a hard working student. She goes above and beyond on all of her class assignments and tests. Sofia is always checking and double checking her work. She is such a spectacular listener and is always on the ball! She is a great friend and is always there when anyone needs a helping hand. Some people wouldn't know it because she can be quiet and shy, but Sofia is hilarious! Her personality shines! 4th grade: Mrs. Albee chose Camryn Ferkle. She said in the morning, if Mrs. Albee pulls into the parking lot at the same time as Mrs. Ferkle, Caeryn comes to her car to greet her with a smile. Mrs. Albee loves her silly sense of humor. She puts Mrs. Albee in a good mood. On Wednesday, she was spot on in math. Camryn gives Mrs. Albee the answers, following along, and paying attention. She studies hard and gets great grades. Camryn gets along with everyone. Her positive energy fills the room. She is very passionate about swim and Taylor Swift. Love it!
5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Carson Guenthner. They said Carson is another one of our Ross rock stars! He is very dedicated to his education, his teachers, and to helping his classmates. Carson is one of our early finishers who is always looking for enrichment opportunities and looking out for his classmates who may need a little extra help. Carson does not only perform well academically, he is also quite the singer and is dedicated to learning how to play the trumpet. He is a student that follows our mission daily by being the best version of himself and inspiring others to do the same. Way to go, Carson! We are so proud of you!
6th grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Bella Cox. They said Bella Cox is super smart and such a good student who goes above and beyond. She is very responsible and always willing to help out her teachers when they need her to run an errand. She listens closely to all the instruction and lessons in class. Bella doesn’t miss a beat! She is also very caring and willing to help other students. She is an awesome tutor to some children in kindergarten. We can tell that she really enjoys working with younger students. It is so obvious from the smile on her face every time we meet with them. Bella definitely has what it takes, and we are so proud of her.

1st grade: Mrs. Kabosky and Mrs. Paczewski chose Harper Gardinier for this week's principal toast. They said Harper joined our Ross family in November and has been a pleasure to teach since her very first day. She is a super hard worker and consistently follows the rules. We are so proud of the progress she has made and continues to make every day. Harper can be quiet and shy, but she is one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet. She loves to attend school events like movie night (which she came to the day after her first day at Ross) and game night. Harper treats her peers with kindness and is a great friend to have! Keep smiling, Harper!
2nd grade: Mrs. Scouton chose Cora Scouton. She said this girl amazes her more every day. Not only does she have to put up with Mrs. Scouton as a Mom, but as her teacher as well. As an eight year old, she feels Cora has handled this quite well - sometimes even better than her! Cora is often quiet, but Mrs. Scouton watched her grow into someone who will speak her mind to stand up for a friend or for what is right. She really is an ideal student who is always paying attention & participating in class. I am proud to be her teacher and her mom. Keep being such a great kid!
3rd grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Ava Baker. They said Ava is always walking down the hall with a big smile and if you ever need a hug, Ava is your girl. Ava is not only an academic rock star, but she is one of the most outgoing students in this school. If you ever need a dinosaur fun fact, just ask Ava! She is willing to play with anyone and play any game from football to Twister. Ava, keep up the good work, and keep being you!
4th grade: Mrs. Albee did not pick her student this week. Instead, she let other teachers pick. Mrs. Simmonette chose Collin Albee. She said she just wanted to give Mrs. Albee a head's up on something Collin did today in library. I went over the March madness book bracket that they will be voting on. I asked the students to please give me their two choices when they came up to do book exchange. When most of the students came up I had to repeat the choices, but when it was Collin's turn he was prepared and told me his two choices right away. I told him how much I appreciated that he listened and followed directions. He also always stays back to help make sure chairs are pushed in before he leaves the library. He's a great kid! Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller said they appreciated how Collin helped them bring stuff into the building in the morning. He also held the door for them. Mrs. Ferkel said Collin is a great friend to Jackson and a good role model. Mrs. Albee said you are a pain but I guess overall, you're a good egg.
5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Addy Peiffer. They said this special fifth-grader is both a diligent student and a joyful friend. Her love for learning shines through in her focus on her classwork, and she approaches every lesson with care. Despite her academic focus, Addy is also known for her playful and silly side, spreading laughter and positivity among her classmates. She stands out as a wonderful friend, always ready to help and share happiness with others. In the fifth-grade world, she is the perfect blend of studious, silly, and fantastic friend who brightens everyone's day.
6th grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Mason Kottler. They said what could we say about Mason…. Well…He is truly one-of-a-kind! His funny and witty personality is one that we all love! He has lots of friends in 6th grade and in other grades too. One thing for sure is that we can always count on Mason to lift up everyone’s spirits when they are down and to offer a hand to help any one of us. He doesn’t like to always admit it, but he has a heart of gold and is looking out for his fellow classmates and teachers all the time. He participates in class a lot and enjoys getting involved. He has become quite the leader this year and is making good choices day in and day out. Keep up the great work, Mason! We are very proud of you!

She always tries her best and she never gives up when the work is too difficult. Emilia is very involved with field hockey, but she always manages to find time to do extra work at home with her gram and mom to help her become an awesome reader. Emilia consistently listens and follows directions which also contributes to her success in the classroom. Keep up the great work, Emilia!
Second grade: Mrs. Scouton chose Maggie Schechterly. She said Maggie is a quiet, reserved second grader. She is an ideal student. Maggie always follows directions and works quietly. She gives 100% every day. She is a hard worker and isn't afraid to ask for help. Maggie is always willing to help others and remains mutual among friends. She is doing such a great job in second grade! Keep up the good work, Maggie!
Third grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Wyatt Sinclair. They said Wyatt is an ideal student. He has the absolute best attitude and work ethic. He gives 110% percent at everything he does. He is so creative, artistic, and has stellar handwriting. Wyatt is a great friend and is always looking out for his classmates. We can always count on him to make us laugh, too! Thanks for being so awesome, Wyatt!!
Fourth grade: Mrs. Albee chose Summer Ourso. She said at the beginning of the year, Summer was a shy, quiet student. As the year has gone by, she loves sharing stories with me. She is a likable kid and her stories make me smile. She definitely brightens our room. She shows up every day ready to learn. I can see Summer growing up to be a vet. She has a love for animals, especially wiener dogs.
Fifth grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Ginny Butler. They said Ginny is one of the most helpful students to her peers and to her teachers. She has great manners and she is polite, friendly, and respectful. She is a fun, energetic person. Her bubbly personality is contagious. She is not afraid to ask for help and always puts her best effort into everything she does. Way to go Ginny!! Keep giving your best, and keep being you!!
Sixth grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Sabrina Noto - They said Sabrina is a quiet, but caring student. Sabrina recently used her hard-earned “Chopyak bucks” on others in the classroom, instead of herself. She is always willing to put others first and oftentimes will put others’ needs before her own. She goes above and beyond always. Whenever we are in need of an artistic project, she is the one to go to. Her coloring and shading skills are next level. She also has great taste in music! She is fun, kind, and a great person. Way to go Sabrina! We are so proud of you!

She has made great progress this school year! Charlotte is also very helpful in the classroom. She takes every opportunity to help out her peers and teachers. Most importantly, Charlotte treats people with kindness and truly wants everyone else to do the same. She strives every day to follow the rules and treat others with respect. The last time Ms. Megan came to visit first grade, Charlotte was the only student to earn a school store coupon for her great behavior. Keep being you, Charlotte!
Second grade: Mrs. Scouton chose Juliann Maculloch. She said Juliann is friendly and kind to others. She always enjoys seeing her smiling face and watching her interact so well with her peers. Juliann doesn't like to see her peers upset, and she will always do her best to fix a social issue. Juliann is a mature, pleasant second grader. Stay kind, Juliann!
Third grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Timmy Allen. They said he has grown so much over this year; he has turned into a super helpful student and a bookworm. In the classroom, he went from the student whose desk was overflowing to the student who is picking up the messy closet from his peers. Timmy has gone above and beyond with helping others, cracking jokes when needed, and has been an academic rockstar! Not to mention, Timmy starts and ends each day with a smile. Keep up the great work, Timmy! We're all so proud of you!
Fourth grade: Mrs. Albee chose Aubree Chopyak. She said Aubree comes into class with a smile on her face every day. She tries her best every day, all day. Grades are a priority for her. She gets along well with others and is a big help to Mrs. Albee in the morning.
Fifth grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Gabby Paull. They said Gabby is a remarkable student who shines brightly in academics, athletics, and friendships. In the classroom, she consistently excels, earning top grades and demonstrates a passion for learning. On the athletic field, Gabby’s determination and skill make her a great player, whether she's scoring goals or supporting her team with a smile. Beyond her achievements, Gabby’s kindness and genuine interest in others have created strong friendships, creating a positive and supportive community around her. Gabby truly embodies the essence of a well-rounded and accomplished fifth-grade student.
Sixth grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Garrett Shaffer. They said Garrett is always willing to help whether it is an adult or a fellow classmate. He is making good choices day to day. He is also making these choices when no one is looking, which is the best way. He gets along with others in school and enjoys his time with his friends. Third grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Willow Raspen. They said that anyone who knows Willow would tell you she is truly one of a kind. She has an endless amount of generosity and kindness. This young lady would do anything for anyone. She has such a passion and love for her animals at home. It is this caring nature and work ethic that transfers to her life as a student and classmate. Ross Elementary is lucky to call this courageous and spunky girl their own, and I know we all can't wait to see the amazing things she will accomplish. Excellent job, Willow!
4th grade: Mrs. Albee chose Grace Wolfe. She said that lately she has noticed that Grace is trying really hard to improve her grades. Since we started the 3rd marking period, she has gotten straight As on her tests. She comes into school every day with a huge smile on her face. She gets along with everyone in class. 5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Matthew Badman. They said Matthew is one of the most positive people they have ever met! He always seeks the light in the dark and reminds us of what is important. He is very studious and happy to help anyone in need. Matthew is quick-witted and always adds a level of humor to our class. He is trustworthy and overall a supportive friend! We are so grateful he is a part of our school at Ross Elementary!
6th grade: Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Chopyak chose Hunter Blat- They said Hunter is an all around great kid. He is always right there to help a teacher or fellow classmate. From picking up the garbage on the floor to helping a student locate a missing item, he is always helping! Hunter also makes others feel included and speaks kindly to everyone he meets. Kindergarten: Mrs. Jarnot chose Maggie Issac. She said there are many days that Maggie comes to school upset because she misses her family. Within a few minutes of her classmates comforting her, she can switch her mood to happiness. Her smile can light up any room. Also, she is a really cool girl who beats to her own drum. Maggie has a Spider-Man backpack and lunchbox and is Michael Jackson’s number one fan. I admire so many characteristics of this little lady!
1st grade: Mrs. Paczewski and Mrs. Kabosky chose Alyssia Waitword. They said Alyssia is very deserving of the principal’s toast. She is a very hard worker in the classroom and always does her best. Aly is always willing to lend a helping hand without even being asked. She is one of the kindest students I have had the pleasure of teaching. One day at snack, Aly had a bag of veggie straws. Mrs. Kabosky was telling her class how much her daughter loves eating those. The next day Aly came in with an extra bag for Mrs. Kabosky to take home to her daughter. Her smile is contagious and will brighten up anyone’s day! Keep up the good work, Aly!
2nd grade: Mrs. Scouton chose Natalia Cameron-Potoeski. She said Natalia is one of the first students to console anyone who is hurt or upset. She is caring and considerate of others. 1st grade: Mrs. Paczewski and Mrs. Kabosky chose Jameson Cummings. They said Jameson is kind, polite, and a hard worker. He doesn't often stand out to others because he is very quiet, but once you get to know him you can see how kind-hearted he is. In December, Jameson came to school on a Monday and said he went to the Blooming Barn to visit Santa. Knowing that the classroom sharpener wasn't working, he asked Santa for a new sharpener for the classroom. Jameson will be the first person to help anyone if he noticed someone needed help. Great job, Jameson!
2nd grade: Mrs. Scouton chose Carsyn Kittle. She said he is one of the most helpful students she has had the pleasure to teach. He is always the first person to lend a helping hand, both socially and academically. He also encourages others and has a positive attitude that is contagious. Way to go, Carsyn!
3rd grade: Mrs. Frey and Mrs. Grey chose Jacob Mamola. They said he is consistently a great friend to others, always willing to help not only Mrs. Grey out but anyone in his path, he follows any direction quickly and the first time. He is an admirable student and person!
4th grade: Mrs. Albee chose Paisley Krasavage. She said although she is new to Ross Elementary, she has really shown her awesomeness! Mrs. Albee quickly recognized her strong work ethic! That is an excellent skill to keep sharpened! Great job, Paisley!
5th grade: Mrs. Stanley and Mrs. Miller chose Annabelle Gardinier. They said Annabella was chosen not only for her work ethic but her transition to a new school! It can be stressful to move, especially so far away from old friends and family. She is a happy, helpful kid who doesn't hesitate to ask for help when she needs it. She is shining academically and making new friends. She loves this school and has mentioned multiple times how much better it is than her old school! Great job, Annabelle!
