Lehman-Jackson Elementary School

Welcome to Lehman-Jackson Elementary School! In addition to the core subjects, our approximately 400 students enjoy specialized art, library, music, technology, and physical education classes. We're proud to also offer choral and band programs to our 5th and 6th graders. Additionally, we are very fortunate to enjoy a number of building upgrades to the interior and exterior of our building completed over the last three years. Lehman-Jackson is now full of school spirit and is a place that makes us proud!

A Message from Our Principal

Dear Families,

Welcome to school! As we continue the 2016–17 school year, I am looking forward to maintaining a strong partnership with students, parents, and the PTO, so we can continue to make positive improvements at Lehman-Jackson.

We hope you are enjoying our remodeled lobby. We’ve removed the tile floor, installed carpet tiles, and added our gold Knight logo to promote school spirit! We also replaced the ceiling tiles in the lobby. I believe we now have a respectable entry way that we can all be very proud of! We’ve also installed new toilet seats in all of the student bathrooms and replaced mirrors where they had been previously missing. Coupled with new faucets that were installed last year, children in each wing now have a respectable bathroom to use at their convenience. Please read more>>>

Sincerely,

Donald E. James

Our Core Values

At Lehman-Jackson Elementary School, we place emphasis on the following seven core values:

  • Cooperation
  • Generosity
  • Helpfulness
  • Honesty
  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Academic Achievement

These seven values tie directly to our “Be Your Best Program.” We recognize students each month who demonstrate these values throughout the school year.

Best Practices of Instruction

Over the last three years, we have set forth an initiative to move away from a teacher-centered environment of worksheets and lecturing to a more student-centered, creative environment, which has been beneficial for our students and given them an opportunity to become better learners. We have placed emphasis on the following best practices of instruction:

  • Collaboration and Group Work
  • Real World Connections and Background Knowledge
  • Active Participation
  • Explore and Discover
  • Motivational and Meaningful Activities
